Save the Children is an international non-profit organization that focuses on
the fulfillment of children’s right. Save the Children was first established in
May 1919 in the U.K. and to date has 28 Save the Children Offices and
operations in more than 120 countries worldwide. In 1976, Save the Children
signed an MoU with the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia,
followed then by the operations of Save the Children throughout Indonesia.
Currently, Save the Children work in 11 provinces with a variety of program
areas, such as: Education, Health and Sanitation, Livelihood, Child Protection
also Disaster Risk Reduction.
Save the Children
is committed in conducting its programs in a way that is safe for children
beneficiaries and to help protect children with whom Save the Children in a
relationship. As a humanitarian organization, Save the Children is obliged to
create and maintain an environment to prevent any sexual exploitation and
sexual abuse of children as well as to promote the implementation of child
safety policies.
Through the Better
living, Education, Nutrition and Development (BLEND) Project, Save the Children
will develop local capacity in Bender Meriah’s to cover four sub districts and
with Early Child Development (ECD) and Maternal and Child Health (MCH),
Livelihood and Nutrition services to children and their mother. The program
will strengthen and improve the quality of existing posyandus, schools, and
initiate new services in villages also work to build the capacity of existing
ECD, Primary schools, Agriculture and training for teachers and equipping the
facilities with needed educational and health, agriculture materials. Currently
Save the Children immediately need experienced staffs to be part of our BLEND 3
program team and will be based in Bener Meriah, Aceh.
The position we are
looking for is:
Health Program Officer –
BLEND 3 (code: HPO – BM) – 1 post, based in Bener Meriah
She/he will work under
Project Coordinator to contribute to effectiveness and efficiency of the
implementation of livelihoods to improved Nutrition for Kids program through
facilitation of all aspect of health, especially Nutrition’s program
intervention activities under this program in target catchments of sub district.
Job Responsibilities:
1.
Facilitate planning,
organization and management of health & nutrition program activities.
a. Contribute in the set up and develop of program strategies
and intervention for monthly, quarterly and annually , collaboration with other
personnel’s in the team.
b. Collect, record and keep/maintain all basic health situation
data in target areas including community mapping, community health works (CHSs0
Groups, access of health services, health.
c. Provide services and others data relevant with the program.
d. Develop TORs and budget estimate requirement to guide
implementation for overall intermediate result activity.
e. Carry out, organize or/conduct the health activities against
operating plans as timely manner.
f. Conduct community awareness/campaign/ socialization meetings
linkage the program with stakeholders, community and local government.
g. Assist on mobilize communities, beneficiaries and other
stakeholders to be involved in development process.
h. Develop TORs to guide implementation of key community
mobilization activities in sub district under the guidance of Project
Coordinator.
i. Ensure that Posyandus, ECD/kindergarten and primary school
have provided the healthy snack and meals.
2.
Manage financial performance
of activities (management, expenditure, etc):
a. Assist in coming up with yearly, quarterly and monthly
plan/requirement for the health (Nutrition) component.
b. Develop monthly cash projection and review monthly budget
versus actual.
3.
Facilitate capacity building
of community and stakeholders:
a. Assist in identify capacity gaps for beneficiaries, group of
community and line government partnership of the program (DHC, DAO, DEO, etc).
b. In direction by the coordinator, conduct or collaboration
with other officers to strengthen the community and health worker capacity in
health or/Nutrition interventions such as workshop, serial trainings, regular
coaching and campaign/promotion activities.
c. Ensure the communities, Posyandu cadres, ECD/kindergarten and
primary school members’ ability to participate and contribute in kind to their
development process.
4.
Provide technical support:
a. Advice on / ensure timely procurement of the right type,
specification and quantity of supplies for livelihood and health provision
activities.
b. In collaboration with the other officers, ensure to prepare
all of administration procedure support document such as vehicle utility
procedure, purchase request / requisition and others.
c. Provide closely approach and communication with community
leader and key stakeholders.
5.
Monitor, evaluate and
document the livelihood and health activities:
a. With the other officers, contribute on regular monitoring and
evaluation of the health /nutrition program activities in villages working
areas.
b. Conduct visits to sampled beneficiaries to asses performance
of intervention in coordination with line local government partnership.
c. Provide the health activity and monthly report, consolidate
all of data program requirement to develop quarterly, annual and project report.
d. Track progress of key indicator for strategy objective
against the benchmarks and ensure information is provide to M & E for
updating database in timely manner.
e. Provide the documentation of activities through photos, short
movie, etc.
f. Follow the advice of Project Coordinator on issues that may
affect the progress of activities under this component on time.
6.
All stakeholders are aware
of LINK program through networking, collaboration and coordination:
a. Provide as key person figure on behalf LINK program at
relevant meeting with government, NGOs and other players in sub district.
b. Build relationship well with relevant government Ministries /
department of Livelihood / Agriculture and health as well as other stakeholders.
General Requirements:
Education: A minimum of
graduate in medical doctor, public health, nursing, midwife or other relevant
field.
Skill and Experiences:

Minimum 4 years total
experience working in health and nutrition activities with minimum 3 years
experience in similar task and (I)NGO.

Knowledge and skills in
methods to promote improvements in health and nutrition program activities.
·
Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
·
Proven skill to produce
annual, quarterly and monthly plan and report.
·
Proven skill in engaging
community, partner or stakeholders in program activities.
·
Able to work in post
conflict area.
·
Proven skills to develop an implementation
plan and then efficiently implement activities.
·
Demonstrated ability to
write high quality reports and other project document in Indonesian and English.
·
Excellent computer literate.
